Introduction
An empathetic person can understand and even feel what someone else is feeling. Empathy is the capacity to feel with another person. An emotional resonance that allows us to perceive and, to some extent, experience the feelings of others as if they were our own, without losing the boundary of self.
What Empathy Really Is
It is often said that empathetic people understand what you are going through perhaps better than a non-empathetic person. By relating your emotional landscape and molding the understanding they have of your state to themselves, they can better be there, in the moment with you.
Some evil person or group of persons have successfully twisted this dark voodoo into something that is perceived as a gift, as a powerful tool for good. But what it really is, if you look a bit deeper, is a tool of the SELFISH. Duh DUh Duh!!!
Empaths are emotional vampires, slowly sucking the emotions right out of your head and heart as you feel them to sate their twisted hungers. Think about it a bit. That โfriendโ of yours that always seems to know what you are hurting and is there to ease the burden of carrying that hurt. They are there not to help you shoulder the load, but to suck it out of you like a parasite.
The streets are filled with these โemotion addictsโ. We see them everywhere in our daily lives. They are the people who seem to do things that elicit responses. The people that cut you off on the interstate or neglect to use a turn signal. That anger or irritation that you feel? Itโs being harvested by the very person driving like a silly wanker.
The bill collector that seems to call you every third day despite repeatedly telling them to go hump a door knob? Sucking the emotions right out of you through the very phone you use to curse them out.
But perhaps the most insidious of these vampires are the ones who create those commercials with the abused animals. You know, those poor twisted wretches that have been starved and unloved for no better reason to satisfy some sick humanโs desire to hold power over another creature.
Those eyes staring into the camera with hope as if to say directly to you โSave me, person. Please, I am so hungry and do not know what it means to be cared for by anyone. Only YOU can help me! Please donate twelve dollars to the charity on your screen.โ
Anyone watching is instantly taken to an emotional state of sadness for these poor creatures. How could anyone NOT want to help them? They can't, which is why those creators are the absolute worst of people.
What defense is there against such evil you ask? To which the only protection known is to live a long life of hatred and depression, pain and fear. Immerse yourself in the suck so you can form callouses against these mind sucking emotion yankers.
For if you can feel the emotions strongly enough, it can snap and backlash the unwitting thieves of your private catalog of feeling, causing them serious harm. Even taking them out completely if you are having an epic meltdown sort of reaction. Something you might feel in those moments of true panic, when you realize the toilet paper roll is empty and you just took a massive dump that wrapped around the toilet and tickled you in thanks for giving it a place to live for so long.
Conclusion
Be vigilant young warriors, for suckers are all around you. Feed the must, but if they must feed from you, give them the meltdown youโve been storing for some special occasion.
And never forget, a person that wants to understand you, only does so because they want to feel up your emotional wellspring.
